3D Point Cloud 2018 (Terrestrial LiDAR)

This three-dimensional “point cloud” representation of the City of Kingston was captured in the fall of 2018 through a shared terrestrial LiDAR data collection project with The Department of National Defence Canada. A vehicle outfitted with LiDAR, GPS and various other sensors was used to drive Kingston's over 1200km of roads and highways.

Due to the large size of these data, they are divided into coverage “tiles” across the city for ease of use and download.

To download the raw point cloud data (file format .LAZ) for a specific area of interest (e.g., region of the city or specific location), please send a request using the City's Contact Us form with a subject of "Open Data Request".

NOTE: This dataset is available for non-commercial use only.
